What is the minimum duration for a PhD?
As per UGC 2022 guidelines, the PhD programme shall be for a minimum duration of 3 years (including 6 months of coursework) and a maximum of 6 years.
Is the Entrance Test mandatory?
Yes. However, candidates who have qualified for UGC-NET/JRF, UGC-CSIR NET, GATE, or CEED are exempted from the Written Test and can proceed directly to the Personal Interview.
Is there a Part-time PhD option?
Yes, Part-time PhD is permitted for working professionals provided they submit a "No Objection Certificate" (NOC) from their employer and attend the mandatory coursework in offline mode.
What is the coursework requirement?
All scholars must complete a 12-credit coursework covering Research Methodology, Research & Publication Ethics (RPE), and domain-specific subjects before starting their thesis.
